Oct. 3rd, 2007 07:15 pmhmm...should be studying for tomorrow's micro exam right now. or writing my micro paper. or writing my concert review for rock&roll. or writing up what we did in molecular lab today.
but what am I doing instead?
absolutely nothing.
motivation is lacking. I should work on this, but I just don't feel like it.

Sep. 17th, 2007 11:39 amyay, my scholarship finally got posted to my account!
in other news, today in molecular we were talking about recombinant DNA, and the professor was using human and wolverine DNA as examples, and it made me wonder...if you combine human and wolverine DNA together, would the result be Hugh Jackman?
the Within Temptation concert on Friday was absolutely amazing, but I don't really have time to write about it right now...so maybe I'll write more about that later.

cleaned my room yesterday...mainly prompted by the fact that we finally cleared off some shelves in the basement so I could put all my school notes someplace besides my floor. and once I got those taken care of I figured I might as well just keep on getting stuff off my floor. it was random and meant I didn't get anything else done yesterday...but now my room is clean.
my history of rock & roll class is turning out to be pretty interesting. the first day we had class for a whole 20 minutes cuz the prof was hungover and thinks that having classes before Labor Day is, as he put it, "absurd." and today we started listening to music already...it should be awesome. and the only assignment in that class is that we have to go to a conccert and write a review about it.
so I'm going to see Within Temptation with Bry a week from Friday! it's gonna be freaking awesome. yeah, I'm all excited about it.
not a lot else to report...Bry and I started watching the dvds of "Charmed" from the library this week, it's actually a pretty good show, so we'll probably keep watching it for a while. yay for shows that don't suck!

Jul. 30th, 2007 03:17 pmAnybody who might be interested in posing for me, I've gotta do a portrait project for my photography class. So...if anybody wants to pose for me and is available between 10am and 4pm this Wednesday, PLEASE let me know. Cuz I want to take pictures of people besides just my family, and I don't know yet how many rolls of film I'm gonna have to take. So yeah...email me, leave me a comment on here, or give me a call tonight or tomorrow (if you get voicemail, please leave a message, cuz my phone will most likely be on vibrate for the next couple days due to having work tonight and class tomorrow morning).

Apr. 18th, 2007 05:07 pmsweet...I just discovered that I need a 10/50 on my last ecology exam to have a 95% in the class. And since the exam is open book...I'm not exactly worried.
This means that I don't have to take the ecology final...so I can devote my energy to the classes I really need to study for (namely chem and genetics...those finals are gonna be a killer)

Mar. 23rd, 2007 09:26 pmhmm...radio KoL is currently playing a song called "Carbon is a Girl's Best Friend"...which I'm highly amused by. But a little saddened too...because I currently hate carbon, due to organic chemistry being pure evil...
lyrics, if anyone cares...
http://www.entersci.com/cosmic/carbon.htm
Though I get the feeling that Krystle will be the only one who reads this that will fully appreciate my amusement and pain.

Dec. 22nd, 2006 12:01 pmMmm, grades are posted for all my classes now...and I'm happy. Amazed that I got 191/200 on my chem final, I was kinda expecting worse. But, now that I think about it, that's a 95%, which is around what I'd been getting on all the tests, so I guess it makes sense?
did all my giftwrapping yesterday, which I'm actually really proud of, because I never have it done that early. so yay for that being finished.
also gave Tom his gift yesterday, which he seemed to like...which is good, I always get all excited when people like the stuff I get them. and I've got good stuff for all the other people I'm giving gifts to, too, so...excitement! giving Bry his stuff tomorrow, I can't wait.
we decorated our tree last night, that was a lot of fun...it's all pretty now (and doesn't look like a Charlie Brown tree, Thomas!). My brother made the remark that it was kind of funny that we were observing one of the last pagan vestiges of the Christmas celebration on the winter solstice. I was kinda amused by that.
my house smells of pumpkin right now cuz we've got like 20 little loaves of pumpkin bread baking. that stuff is freaking awesome.
reading time is wonderful, I've been reading so much lately, it's awesome.
Yup, that's all I've got right now.

Dec. 19th, 2006 03:39 pmwee, finally got my hair trimmed, which I've been meaning to do for a couple months now...yeah, I know, I'm bad about that kind of stuff.
also was thinking about getting red highlights done, but decided to vote no on that when I found out that it would cost 80 bucks. which is too bad, cuz I think it would look decent. *shrug* oh well
found out today that I got an A in chem lab, which makes me happy, cuz that's one of the classes I was actually worried about. don't know the rest of my grades for sure except for bio, in which I've got somewhere upwards of 100%, but I'm too lazy to figure out the exact percentage right now.
Bry and I are having our Christmas thing on Saturday, I'm all excited. Especially since he keeps making vague comments about what he got me, so I'm all excited and curious. And I know he's gonna like what I got him, can't wait to give it to him. Though I should probably actually wrap it eventually, lol. That might be a good idea.
Disappointed cuz Justin and Jon can't make it to my party...but I can't really change the date now, invites have already been sent out and stuff. But Brassie will be coming, which is pretty cool cuz I haven't seen her in a couple years. And I really hope Kirsten can come, I haven't seen her in absolutely ages. Yeah, I'm getting excited about this party.
Hmm, that's all I've got for now.

Dec. 18th, 2006 04:35 pmphew, that's finally over.
chem exam was, thankfully, not as bad as I was expecting. The first two synthesis reactions were bad, but the rest of it I was actually okay with.
and archaeology wasn't too bad either, considering I spent maybe an hour actually studying for it, since I spent all of last week working on just chemistry.
work tonight, work tomorrow morning, and then REST! I like sleeping.
Wolverine party next week Friday, really excited about that. hope everyone can make it, I haven't heard from everyone about what day would even be best yet, but I'm sending out invites tomorrow or else they won't get there in time.
think that's about all there is to say right now...I'm so glad my semester is over. and glad that all my books sold back, so I made quite a bit of money from that, thank goodness. yay for having funding for Christmas shopping!

Nov. 13th, 2006 10:23 amphew. last night I had this horrible dream that I totally failed my chem quiz. thank goodness it was only a dream. (I already know I missed a couple points on this quiz, unfortunately, but it's quite a bit better than it was in my dream...)
the semester is so close to being over with already, it's crazy. didn't really realize it until I was noticing that we've only got one more lab before the final one in chem, and only two more before the practical in bio. which is insane. but in a way it's okay, cuz I really can't wait for this semester to be over with. free time will be amazing, and maybe I'll get to spend a bit more time with Bry over Christmas break (since I'll actually be home in the mornings).

Nov. 9th, 2006 07:08 pmI got to play with green glowy bacteria in cell lab today. It was exciting. and SHINY!
I burned myself in chemistry though...aluminum blocks used to heat things to 85*C hurt when you touch them.
I heard that there was a big fireball in the chem section on Tuesday...I kinda wish I'd seen it, but at the same time, it sounds like it was pretty scary. And somehow it managed to cause a flood in the whole chem lab too, which is kinda crazy.

Sep. 29th, 2006 05:45 pmI've been informed that I forgot to mention the Little Caesar's guy when I was talking about the Another Misprint concert. So here goes. There was a guy wearing a Little Caesar's costume that kept walking by and dancing during the concert. They even made him come up on stage at one point. And it was highly entertaining...too bad I didn't have my camera on me.
In other news, I shattered Bry's sense of reality last night cuz I knew about a horror movie before he did. (It was Battle Royale, if anyone cares) I almost feel bad about breaking his sense of reality...but his reaction was really funny! So I can't feel 100% bad about it.
phew, bio exam is over. now I've just gotta get through chem and anthro, and then I can sorta relax for a bit.

Sep. 27th, 2006 10:18 amI just finished reading "Perks of Being a Wallflower" again. I don't know what it is about that book, but I just keep coming back to it. Especially in the fall. I dunno why, but it feels like such an autumn sort of book. And what was a little weird is that I just read Colin's most recent LJ entry, and it reminded me a lot of that book.
Other news, I saw Another Misprint this weekend, which was pretty cool, though I was disappointed in the lack of Phill. After the concert we played D&D for the first time in like a month. Laura and Nick showed up for about half an hour in the middle too, which was pretty cool cuz I hadn't seen them in absolutely ages. I've missed my Laura! XD So yay for seeing them, and yay for actually playing for once. We quit early, though, cuz I was practically falling asleep at the table, I feel kinda bad about it, but I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to make it for another hour and a half...and I honestly don't think it would've been fun for anyone to try to play when one of the players isn't conscious.
Also went to the game on Friday night, which was pretty fun. Bry surprised me and showed up halfway through the second quarter, which was awesome because I didn't expect to see him there. I love it when he does little things like that to surprise me. The band looks and sounds great, so yay for them...and I can't wait until homecoming. Someone will need to let me know what time alumni need to be at rehearsal that day, by the way.
So I've got a quiz in about half an hour that I should probably study for. But I don't feel like it, because I studied already today. Blah. First exams for all my classes are coming up soon too...bio on Friday, chem and anthro next Wednesday.
Bry and I are going to see Howl on Saturday, which I'm pretty excited for (if they have tickets still, that is...I need to go buy tickets today).
