Since I haven't done this in a while.

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

Avengers, Clint/Coulson. Because they are MY SHIP OF SHIPS from the Avengers movie 'verse. I just. THEY ARE SO PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER. [livejournal.com profile] everythingshiny made this one for me because I kind of begged for it. XD (Well okay. It was on a gifting meme of some sort.)

This is from the absolute most hilarious episode of Star Trek Voyager. It's the one where they're transported back to like 1995 or something in LA and have to try to act like they're actually from the late 20th century, with hilarious results and TERRIBLE shoulder pads. Also, Sarah Silverman before people thought she was funny.

Mandy Patinkin's character, Saul, on Homeland. Which is a pretty fantastic show that, let's not lie, I totally only started watching because of Mandy Patinkin. (That's also the reason I started watching Criminal Minds. Watching things because Mandy Patinkin is in them seems to be a VERY GOOD DECISION.) I made this one, actually. Because I thought the door was pretty? (I am seriously like SUPER drawn to red things. I have no idea.)

A fabulous [livejournal.com profile] redscharlach cartoon icon from Sherlock. Because ew, Sherlock, eyeballs don't go in the microwave. Clearly they belong in the fridge. (I don't know, I thought it was hilarious. Don't think I've ever actually used it for anything, but I thought it was hilarious.) I'm pretty sure it's a play on a Neitzsche (how the fuck do you spell it) quote about an abyss.

This is Celia in St Trinian's 2. If you haven't seen the St Trinian's movies, DO IT. They are awesome and funny, and okay a little bit camp, but they're all about GIRL POWER and a lot of fun. Celia is adorable and a bit of a stoner hippie, but she's SO CUTE in a pirate hat. Juno Temple should always wear pirate hats.

BJ Hunnicut from M*A*S*H. Who is, in fact, Hawkeye's BFF. And also one of my favorite characters. BJ JUST MAKES ME HAPPY. (Incidentally, I think I'm in the minority in the M*A*S*H fandom because I don't ship BJ/Hawkeye. I just. I ship BJ/Peg so hard, despite the fact that we never even see Peg.) And yes, that is a play on that weird commercial from a few years ago, but I thought it was cute, okay?

Captain America. Because I decided I needed a Cap icon. I think I've got most of the Avengers (but maybe not Thor. It's weird: his movie is one of my favorites, but I don't find Thor himself all that interesting). I really like the bright colors on this one.

This is Wavy Rancheros, the Cajun crocodealie-alligatah puppet from the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Because puppets from late-night TV are awesome? I don't know, Wavy makes me laugh. (Also. I, uh. May have written fic in which he is a character. Please don't ask.) And yes, he says "Whatah-do, everybody?!" instead of just saying hi like a normal...puppet...

Jayne from Firefly. He will be in his bunk. This is the icon I use in reaction to sexy things happening, because of reasons.

Ryan and Esposito from Castle! Also known as a thing I ship like burning. I made this one, actually, and it's actually one of the more complicated ones I've made? Sort of? Because in the original cap they were sitting rather farther apart and wouldn't fit nicely in the frame, so I actually had to cut Javi out and move him closer so they fit. And so now it kind of looks like they're about to kiss. Oops? (Sorry not sorry...)

Radar from M*A*S*H! He is tiny and adorable and I had a massive crush on him for a long time. (...I was 13, okay?) But yeah. I kind of just want to squish him.

PHIL COULSON. He's pretty much my favorite character in the world right now (...well. Okay, maybe third favorite, because Hawkeye Pierce and Penelope Garcia forever hold the top 2 spots). I actually want to go searching for a better Coulson icon, frankly. Because I got this one before the movie was out on DVD, and was having a hard time finding good Coulson icons (because not a whole lot got made from the first few MCU films, that I could find anyway). And this one is super badass, yeah, but I kind of want at least one of him where nothing is exploding? PS COULSON LIVES.

IT'S BEAKER. He is adorable and goes "meep." This is one I use when I think things are weird or somewhat disturbing. (Or when Tumblr goes down and I start panicking, since I don't have a "PANIC" icon.)

Kaylee! I really, really like Kaylee. She's one of those people who's cheerful all the time but not in an annoying way. (I really would love to see a universe in which she and Garcia could interact. Because that would just be like...sunshine lollipops and rainbows all day long, when they're not swapping stories of how much it sucks to get shot.) And I really love the part where she's the mechanic, frequently covered in grease, but she's also a total girly girl. I don't know, I think it's cool. Also, it's mostly her fault that I refer to things I like as "shiny."

Jayne's popular today, apparently. But yes. This is my default reaction to sexy things.

Stephen Fry thinks you're weird. I mean, not *you* personally, but you know what I mean. Stephen Fry is awesome. And it's nice to have an icon I can use as a reaction to weird shit, you know?

This is a Hugh Laurie icon that I assume is probably from a screencap from House, but I don't watch House. In my head, this is Hugh playing Andrew Langston, a character from Underground, which is a show I wrote for a meme a long time ago. This icon doesn't get a whole lot of use because I haven't really written anything to go along with the show in quite some time, but I'm probably never going to delete it because I REALLY LIKED writing the show.

Eliot, Parker, and Hardison from Leverage. This is an OT3 I ship LIKE BURNING. (Also, they're the only characters from the show I actually like. Seriously, I cannot stand Nate and Sophie, particularly together.) I made this icon and frankly think it's absolute crap, but dear LORD it is difficult to find caps where all three of them are in the same damned frame, let alone close enough together that they'd all fit into one icon.

1. I still don't have any Avengers icons (or...actually even seen the film yet).

Also, I totally agree with you about Thor. I've gone on at length about why Loki's so popular: they spent about half the movie on his characterization, and almost nothing on Thor. He's like a big blonde sock puppet.

(Though an adorable one, certainly.)

I love him in fic, but the Thor film really dropped the ball, and I can't imagine Avengers having time, what with all the other characters, to fix it that much.

2. Hee. I love Craig Fergeson. I don't watch him as much as I'd like, but then I just don't watch a lot of TV anymore.

And that fic was hilarious, by the way.

3. Jayne deserves to be popular. He's one of those characters who you sense all the potential good there...and then find yourself cringing repeatedly with what he actually delivers. That end scene of Jaynestown struck my early writer brain as an example of character progression worthy of emulating.

(Also, unf.)

4. *squishes mah boys* Yeah, nothing to be sorry about there. It's an awesome icon.

5. Yep, Radar's totally squishable too. M*A*S*H always brings to mind memories of being home sick from school and watching the reruns with my dad. *snuggles*

6. Yeah, basically everything I said in my journal about the unflappable "straightman" type goes here. I blame you for my Coulson love (though I ship him with Steve more often than Clint >.>), since before I read your journal he was just that guy I vaguely remembered from IM1.

Afterward, on rewatch, I paid more attention. :)

Also: Not one of the icons I commented on, but I took a look at Underground and it looks awesome. I might do something similar. I found a prompt in the thread on the community that I could easily twist into the non-fandom Life 'verse story I've been wanting to do for ages...

So, I might just surrender. ;)
