TOO MANY SONGS

So, I'm working on making a fanmix for a challenge at fandomverse.

However.

I have 31 potential songs. THIRTY-ONE. This is too many, even for a 2-disc fanmix.

I have no idea how I'm going to pare this down.

Just do what I always do. Forget about all the other songs and just look at the first two. Out of these two, pick one that represents your topic the best and throw the other out. Repeat with the next two and the two after that... you get the idea.

Or you could just make it a 3-disc fanmix. *g*

Haha, I could just make it a 3-disc.

But really, I think I need to look at the group of songs as a whole, because so far I've just been going through my music collection and listing anything that has relatively appropriate lyrics. So I need to look at everything now, and see what doesn't fit, and we'll see how much that takes away. (Plus, I've got a couple situations where I have 3 or 4 songs from the same artist, and if I take away a couple of those, that'll help too). I'd like to get it down to just 2 discs worth, really, because 3 seems...a little overwhelming? Or something? I feel like people will get bored with it before the end, if I do that many, lol.

VICTORY. I've got it down to 24 songs. That's two 12-track discs. I think I can make this work.

You know, you could save the other songs for future fanmixes if a similar topic ever comes up.

I probably will save them. I didn't delete them off my list, just crossed them off, and I save all my notes and stuff from all my completed challenges, so I can come back to it if they look like they'll be useful later.

Now I just need to organize the songs in a way that sort of makes sense. I think I know what songs I want to start and end each disc with, it's just getting the ones in the middle right that's going to be tough. (Which is, actually, not something I usually pay attention to when making fanmixes, it's just that this one's...um...developing ~emotions and ~meaning. XD )
