So when I opened my welcome packet thing for my Northwestern interview, this little dude was inside:

Yes, that IS a giant stuffed E. coli. I think I'm gonna call him Gary...cuz the only place I've ever seen giant microbes like that was in Gary Larson's Far Side cartoons.
And it kinda reminded me of a couple weeks or so ago when Kirsten was discussing all her stuffed animals. And I have a bunch too, so...stealing an idea from Kirsten and adding pictures.
But just as a warning before we begin...yes, a lot of them have kinda silly names. Because the older ones were named when I was a little kid. Please don't laugh.

This is Pandy. He's my oldest stuffed creature...think I got him the day I was born (or very shortly afterwards anyway). The light-colored thing he's sitting on? Is the blanket I got sometime when I was very small as well (named Baby Blankie). And yes, that's a poster of a dragon lurking in the background (these pictures seem to be a tour of my bedroom as well as a tour of my plushies).

Dakota hangs out with Pandy. I got him in 5th grade, I think. Somehow got into the habit of sleeping with him as well as Pandy, and have done so ever since. He's one of the ones I didn't name myself (as a TY creature, he came with the name).

I got Rayne from Bry a couple years ago for my birthday. Rayne is pretty well-traveled, as he has accompanied me on most of my recent trips (read: grad school interviews). He is also the third of the creatures I have to cuddle when I'm trying to sleep. Cuddling is a necessity.
I feel I should also include the pillows behind him in my list of plushies, as the top one (Little Pillow) is one I've had pretty much since I was born, and the next one (Sailor Moon Pillow, because it's got pictures of Sailor Moon characters on it) are pretty much requisite for me to sleep. They are one of the major reasons I can never sleep if I'm not in my own bed...because essentially I need my head to be at the height of one and a half pillows, which is somewhat difficult to accomplish with hotel pillows.

Tigey, so named because she is, of course, a tiger cat, is one of my older stuffed animals as well. I used to have to hold her when I slept, but she got relegated to the corner of the bed when I got Dakota.

Pink Bunny is around the same age as Tigey, I think, and was an Easter gift, if I remember correctly. Also one of the ones relegated to the corner...but I still feel like it would be weird if she (? I'm actually not sure if this one is a boy or a girl, despite the pinkness. Most of my stuffed animals are boys, for whatever reason.) wasn't actually in the bed anymore.

Elephanty is the third of the corner-dwellers. Can't even remember when I got him anymore, though I'm pretty sure it was sometime in elementary school.

Big Dog used to sleep at the end of my bed when I was a kid. Despite the obvious-sounding-ness of his name, he actually wasn't named because he's a large dog...I named him after a cartoon dog from a comic strip in...I think it was Ladybug magazine.

Pooh Bear is one of the animals that's always been there, but whose story I really don't recall. I have no idea why he's called Pooh Bear, or when I got him. But he's a fairly old critter who now lives in my top bunk (which is actually where most of the creatures live anymore).

New Monkey, so named because he is significantly older than my mother's childhood stuffed monkey, is another one who's been there for a very long time. He was probably one of the end-of-the-bed dwellers in the old house (things got changed up a lot when we moved).

I can't, for the life of me, remember the name of this guy. He's the twin of my brother's stuffed bear, except that he held up a LOT better (Eric's bear is pretty much bald and has approximately half the stuffing). I may have called him Brother Bear, but I'm not sure at this point.

Bugs Bunny is fairly self-explanatory, as well as being among the ranks of the older stuffed animals.

Pink Dragon is both pink and dragon-shaped (though was perhaps intended to be a dinosaur?), as well as being kinda old. Her neck is weird...cuz there's a lump of fabric in the neck that makes it stand up straight, but can be squished down into the body so her neck goes totally limp. I don't get it.

This is a pile of small generic stuffed animals, none of whose names I can recall (except, of course, Big Bird, because, y'know...his shirt says so). The tiger and the cat are quite a bit older than the zebra.

Mr. Hooks is one of my oldest creatures. I think I used to chew on him when I was really little. And, if I recall correctly, he was the one who came to church with me.

My aunt made these, and the thing they're sitting in, for me when I was really little. I seem to recall chewing on the rabbit's ears.
The hanging serves as a convenient place to stretch out my radio's pathetic antenna.
And now, on to all my more recent creatures.

A drawer full of Beanie Babies. The big puppy on top has no name, and I can't recall where he came from. The round cat thing in the back came with the name Paws, but I don't like that name...cuz he looks like a Tribble-cat. I believe he was a gift from Amanda at some point. And the Valentine's bear next to the Tribble-cat came from Laura in high school.

I'm pretty sure all of these were Christmas-stocking-toppers. I think my sister gave me the blue Hush Puppy, cuz I had the purple one and she didn't particularly like them, so now I've got a quasi-matched set. And they are all unnamed...any suggestions?

This very cute little guy is the guardian bear who came with my engagement ring. He has no name, but he's very sweet. And sits on my desk to guard me from insanity when I'm working on homework.

A pair of awesome creatures. The wolf is Yukon, so named because I got him relatively soon after Dakota, and Yukon and Dakota were both territories (yes, I was a weird little fifth-grader). Yukon was a prize for selling a certain amount of Girl Scout cookies. And he's hiding in a scarf that was a birthday gift from Amanda a couple years ago. The flowers next to him are from a lei I got at a friend's open house.
The penguin is Mortimer, and he comes from the Boston aquarium. His beak is a little bent because while I was in the aquarium, he had a fight with a penguin that one of the other band kids was holding (Josh McArthur, if I remember correctly). Mortimer is named after a character in Arsenic and Old Lace.

Jolly (because that's what his snowflake says) came in a can. There's nothing cooler than opening a can and finding a penguin. He was a gift from Bry's family at Christmas last year. Katelyn has a matching one that has a green hat and scarf. I'm not sure if the little dog next to him has a name or not, and I can't actually remember where he came from.

This dude is a big, soft Emperor penguin. Daddy has a matching one. Got this guy at Christmas a few years ago. Mine lives in my room, Dad's lives in a closet, but comes out to visit at Christmas time. The penguin is hugely soft and cuddly, but unfortunately unnamed.

Pooh Bear and Wicket are a set. I bought both of them at Disney World when we went there for the band trip junior year. Pooh is SUPER SOFT! Wicket's cowl is also really soft, but in a different way. I think the tiny duck in the background came from Amanda, and the seal was a McDonald's prize of some sort.

This little dude came to me with the name Waddles. He was a Christmas gift...this year I think, but don't quote me on that. He's hanging out next to a pile of books that I need to read sometime in the next month or two.

The hedgehog, who I've just now decided to name Spike, was a birthday gift last year. He came from Frankenmuth, and my family very sneakily managed to purchase him while I was still in the same store he came from.

The newest addition to my collection. I just bought this little dude at the aquarium in Chicago two days ago. He doesn't have a name, but I'm working on it. He is also VERY SOFT. The softness of my creatures is SERIOUS BUSINESS.
ETA: I think I may call him Bip.

This is Monty Python's Killer Rabbit. He appeared in my Easter basket a few years ago, the same time that Eric got a plush Black Knight. The bunny has a hinged jaw, so he can open up and bite people if it's necessary.
I think that about covers it. There might be a couple more plushies hanging around my room, but they're ones that really don't make too much of a difference to me.
