Sep. 25th, 2005 12:36 pmFriday night was the homecoming game, and I got to march in the parade and in pregame, and then play with the band in the stands. it was awesome to be back there again, playing with everyone that I've been playing next to for years. (that's really the one thing that I can't stand about wind symphony at school, I don't know anybody but Knuuti, so it's nowhere near as fun because there's no inside jokes to be involved in and stuff like that) but anyway, pregame actually went pretty well even though we alumni only got to practice it like 4 times, so we didn't really know exactly what we were doing. the parade was great...for like the whole first half, I was having to bite my lip to keep myself from grinning like a maniac, that's how much I loved being marching with the band again. (and the only reason I wasn't still trying to keep from grinning during the second half is that that's when I started hurting. there's something about having to hold 7 pounds of metal in front of your face for half an hour using muscles that you haven't even thought about in 6 months that kinda hurts a little, lol) but yeah, it was so great to be back in the stands playing again, too. it was amusing to realize how much of the music I still remembered. and I was amazed that I could still hear afterwards, due to having had Josh H. and Steve standing behind me in the stands...they weren't playing quite in my ears, but it was still pretty close. god, I got such a rush from just being back up there playing again.
after the game I went to Country Sun, and like half the marching band was there, it was great. so I got a lot of hugs from everyone, because I was just in a hug-type mood that night.
it was comforting to be back in a place where I always know what's going on.
last night was D&D, which was fun, even though I was half asleep through most of it. I think the crowning moment was probably when the cleric set a door on fire (it was locked and we needed to get through and kill the stuff on the other side), then decided it would be a good idea to kick the door (to try to knock it down, apparently?), so he ended up doing damage to himself. it was super funny.
so yes. fun weekend. and I think I'm pretty prepared for my exam tomorrow, too.
lunch at Archie's with my family as usual today, as soon as they get home from church.
so I'm in a good mood. hopefully in the late afternoon-type time maybe I'll be able to get together with Bry for a little while.

cuddle and a kiss on the forehead - you like to be
close to your special someone and feel warm,
comfortable, and needed
