Dragon food...in a tin
May. 16th, 2004 07:20 pmso. prom. lots to say...though probably you knew most of it already.
to begin with: dinner. not too bad, except for the lovely hour-long wait because the idiots at the restaurant don't understand the concept that when you make reservations, you expect that they'd have tables ready at the time when you say you're going to be there. there was a waiter at Outback that looked rather like Sean Biggerstaff...that was kinda nifty.
before we went to the dance, we stopped by Gaby's dad's house, where Gaby's brother attached himself to my finger for a good 10 minutes...it was kinda funny.
the dance itself was pretty cool. the decorations were absolutely awesome! my personal favorite part of the decorations was definitely the suit of armor, also known as "dragon food in a tin." (sorry, that was on a poster in a museum I went to a few years ago)
I actually danced a couple times (hey, there's a miracle...) I mean, they played "Sandstorm," so of course I had to dance. and Rob asked me to dance one of the slow dances...of course, it's only cuz Loren told him to, but still. it was kinda funny, cuz when he asked me he was like "may I have this dance, fair lady?" and it was just cute cuz he said he was trying to be all medieval and such but didn't really know what he was doing. 'twas quaint. that was the first time I've actually talked to him in several months, too.
at about quarter after 12 the dance had become pretty lame and tiresome so we left...took Amanda back to her house and then I headed out to Barkman's party. that was pretty cool, but I only stayed until like 2:10 because by then we'd gotten to the point in the movie that we'd just seen the previous day and I was getting tired too so I decided to head out.
I definitely almost fell asleep in church today...but I guess that that's what falling asleep at 3 in the morning does to ya.
finally managed to get my hair down about an hour and a half ago...took a very long time to get it untangled. I really think that I managed to pull out half the hair from my head trying to comb it though. ow.
