Today was...interesting. in first hour, Mrs Herfert was making a big deal out of the fact that I've got a 14 percent in her class right now because I missed so much stuff. she was being truly ridiculous about it and I just about wanted to hit her. grrrrr.
jazz band was pretty fun...Steve wasn't there, as usual. I'm beginning to wonder if he's going to make it to any rehearsals at all.
Mr Schuster tried to make me do a solo...it was almost funny. I'd been listening during one of the improv solo sections, and looking at the floor because there was nothing in my music to look at, and Schuster decided to pick on me and try to make me solo. and everybody was like "yeah, do a solo!" I kept saying no, because I have no creative talent whatsoever, I really don't understand all that weird chord crap that's necessary for improvising, and frankly I'm still trying to figure out what the heck notes I'm playing on most of the songs. But anyway, Schuster decided that he'd just go down the trumpet line for solos, but then he kept looking over at me while the others were playing and I kept shaking my head. when it was supposed to be my turn, he just went on to the second ending instead...but then as we went on, he looked over and stuck his tongue out at me (like he'd been doing the whole time in Orlando) and he'd irritated me enough that I stuck my tongue back out at him...the look on his face was classic, he was pretty surprised. it made me laugh.
and then he caught me after rehearsal and called me a punk. lol.
but I refuse to do improv solos. ever. and I'm sick of people trying to convince me to do them.
