Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load

This song really resonates with me. Kind of listening to it on repeat right now, actually. And it's kind of turning into the closest thing to a religious experience I've had in years, oddly enough. (Well, maybe not so odd, I suppose...this song is essentially a prayer. I'm not sure who to, in my case, but I guess just releasing its energy into the universe is enough for me right now.)

Sheesh. Leave it to me to have something resembling a crisis of faith here on LJ...this is not what I was intending to say when I started writing this post, I'm just stream-of-consciousness writing things. XD

Uh. If anybody wants, feel free to make the comments section of this post an open discussion of religion, as apparently I'm in that sort of mood right now. Just play nice - anybody starts bashing other people's beliefs and I will freeze comment threads as soon as I get to them.

So yeah, apparently this is my 1000th entry. And I saw something hilarious tonight, so I wanted to share it with you guys, along with another video that it immediately reminded me of.

Geoff the Robot makes Craig Ferguson cry:

and also

What DO they say about the Acropolis?

In honor of this being my 1000th post, let's have a party in the comments! Gifs, videos, macros, whatever. Bonus points for sharing something that makes me laugh so hard I cry.

Music meme

From [livejournal.com profile] naushika, I was assigned the letter F. I'll try to keep this clean. XD

The meme:
1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload) 5 songs you love that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

(Yes, I am posting youtube links instead of uploading. I HAS A LAZY TONIGHT, OKAY?

Embedded videos below the cut to save your flist )

Choosing only a few songs is HARD! Plus, I just love sharing all the fun music that I've got, lol.

On a similar note, anybody got any other music memes?

So, uh. I'm moving tomorrow. o.O All our crap is in boxes right now and there is literally NO SPACE TO MOVE in our tiny apartment because the floor space is all taken up with boxes. We've got 2 giant boxes crammed into the tiny kitchen because there's no place else to stick them.

It's awesome. Can't wait to be moved.

Poor kitty is gonna be so traumatized, though.

In other news, I've been watching old episodes of Craig Ferguson. It's a good thing.
Particularly when I discover things like this. )

[livejournal.com profile] seraphina_snape: this is for you.

(I blame my husband for this, actually. We're currently watching Bob & Rose, and Bry started singing the song.)

This video is a lot of fun. Try to watch it and not smile, I dare you.

Okay, so. I went to a Muppets exhibit today (which, by the way, was awesome). And it made me want to watch some Muppet Show. So I did.

And I must share this with you. Because it's quite possibly one of the most awesome things I've ever seen. And it kind of makes me cry a little. But is epic and wonderful.

Ladies and gentlemen, Harry Belafonte and the Muppets singing "Turn the World Around."

Okay, I don't usually do stuff like this, but a comment Bry made on the last entry where I posted this video made me think of it. So, here goes. (Apologies for spamming your flist with this video. But it's great!)

1. Watch this video. Smile because it's awesome.
2. Comment on this entry, and I will write something nice about you, a la Hugh Newman.
3. Repost this, including the video, on your own journal. Spread the smiles!

I would LOVE to see my flist spammed with this video. I can't find the quote again, but a couple days ago when I found out about this, I saw something that mentioned that either Kurt Kuenne (director/producer/composer) or TJ Thyne (the main character) basically wanted to do this project to make people smile. So. Help them out. Make someone smile today.

I dare you
