naushika, you'd be so proud of me, I'm watching Fringe, finally. Currently on ep 1x13. Main impressions so far:
-Anna Torv is pretty like a pretty thing
-She also has a really great disgusted face
-I too would prefer never hearing Walter Bishop say the word "nipple" again
-I would quite like more of Charlie Francis
-I would also like more of Astrid Farnsworth please
-Also, I think I might actually be shipping Peter/Olivia a little. And that's weird, because I usually don't ship the people the show wants me to ship.

Haha I know what you mean. Although I tend to love canon ships because they give me something to work with. But I have rebelled against canon ships that felt like they were too over the top in trying to push it on me. BUT REGARDLESS, YAY, PETER/OLIVIA. :D

For me, it's actually pretty rare that I'll ship anything that's canon. Part of this comes from the fact that most of my ships are slash. And part of it is that I don't like the show trying to tell me who I should be shipping.

There are some canon ships I really love, though. Claudia/Fargo, Zoe/Wash, Willow/Oz are the only ones I can think of at the moment... (ETA: Oh, and Peter/Elizabeth from White Collar, though I really OT3 Peter/El/Neal...)

(I AM RAMBLING. Sorry. I'm a little tipsy, and am writing fanfic FOR A SHOW THAT DOESN'T ACTUALLY EXIST. One that I wrote, in fact, so I'm not even sure if it's fanfic or just a really fleshed-out portion of script. XD And for some reason this is making me REALLY TALKY.)

Mm, if you're a slasher then that definitely makes sense. I'm 99% just a het shipper, but I'm also a multi-shipper and I tend to ship All The People. lol. If the chemistry works on screen for me, then I feel it.

99% a het shipper, and the 1% is John/Sherlock? XD

I tend to latch onto one, maybe two ships per show, and will continue to ship them FOREVER. (Like Danny/Flack from CSI:NY. I've shipped them ever since I discovered the show, and continue to do so despite the fact that Danny/Lindsay has been the canon THING for like...5 seasons now? And hell, I still ship Zack/Hodgins from Bones despite the fact that Zack hasn't been on the show for 3 seasons, lol) I'm not really good at...people...so I think part of the reason I don't multi-ship is because a lot of the time, I probably don't see on-screen chemistry between a lot of characters. *shrug*

I AM WRITING SHIPPY FIC IN MY STEAMPUNK UNIVERSE. This is ridiculous. (Also, is my Anything Goes big bang, which is turning out to be easier than anticipated...the first fic was supposed to be shortish, and wound up being like 1100 words. I don't even know where it all came from. XD )

I actually used to be like that. I used to like one, maybe two pairings on a show. I guess I'm getting more romantic as I get older because I just want EVERYONE TO BE IN LOVE! And then I want to read every fanfic about it lolol.

EEE AWESOME! :D I love it when a story runs away and just goes on forever (especially if all that "forever" makes sense!).

The only show where I kind of ship EVERYONE is Firefly, because they pair off so nicely. Zoe/Wash, Mal/Inara, Kaylee/Simon, and I actually am quite fond of River/Jayne (which, really, there's not that much evidence of on the show, but the fic for the pairing is pretty awesome. What of it I've read, anyway.) Though I will admit, I kind of ship River/Mal too.

(Also, between this and shipping Willow/Oz, I'm becoming convinced that Joss Whedon is the only person who consistently creates het pairings I actually like.)

I hope it makes sense! I'm kind of having trouble with character voices at the moment (uh, partially because I don't actually know how people in Victorian London/NYC/Boston would've talked, so they mostly talk like modern-day people, and that's bugging me but I can't fix it right now; plus WRITING DIALOGUE IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.)

Also, it's very weird, but lately I've actually got some OT3s. And I usually don't OT3 at all, but I've got several that I ship hardcore right now. Neal/Peter/El from White Collar, of course (this ship brought to you by the fact that I LOVE LOVE LOVE El with every fiber of my being, and adore the El/Peter relationship, but also cannot deny the Peter/Neal chemistry), and also Parker/Hardison/Eliot from Leverage (this ship brought to you by ALL THE PRETTY PEOPLE IN ONE PLACE. AND A LACK OF NATE'S MANPAIN.)

And of course Annabelle/Kelly/Polly from St Trinian's, but that's such a tiny fandom that most people don't even know about it. My friend who got me into the fandom in the first place is responsible for at least 50% of the fic for the entire fandom. She writes NOVELS.

Ahh I have tried so hard to OT3 but I just can't do it, haha.

Well you are lucky to have that friend then! Novel-length fic is the best fic. I wish my other fandoms had 50% long fic like that.

I honestly never thought I would ever OT3 anybody, because the idea of it bugged me. But those few, I really really like. It helps that I found great fic for them, lol. (I am, sometimes, easily swayed by fic, if I encounter it when I'm still fairly new to the fandom.)

Well, not all her fics are novel-length, but in total she's written 260k words of fic for that fandom, all within one 'verse. That's 22 fics total, and looking at AO3, there are only 59 fics for the entire fandom (3 of those are my Criminal Minds crossover 'verse, too, so I don't feel like they really count. Though I wrote those with the intention of it being roughly in her universe, because I've been her beta for pretty much everything, and can't honestly imagine trying to use any other characterization for the characters from the film), and very few of those seem to be over 1k words. So by sheer wordcount, I'm fairly certain she's written half the fandom. (I was actually talking to someone about St Trinian's fic one day, and she asked me "there's other ST fic besides Chosen and Defined 'verse?" And that made me smile, because apparently my friend has a reputation for awesome within the fandom.)

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T SHIP THEM! :D And I have been "the one weird person" before (eg, I detest Buffy/Angel and don't really understand it at all) so I kind of get it, but yeah, most people who watch Sherlock end up shipping them lolol.
