[livejournal.com profile] tvrealm has a challenge right now where we have to listen to music and then make graphics based on the lyrics.

I, in my infinite wisdom, decided I was going to make tumblr graphics.

And to my utter surprise, I actually like some of them. The best ones are at the bottom, because yes, I'm going to make you keep scrolling. (I'll probably put the ones I like up on tumblr at some point; I'll add links in here to the tumblr posts so you can reblog if you want.)

They weren't supposed to be mostly Supernatural, but, well. That's what I'm currently mainlining, so it's on my mind.

Watching the Star Trek Voyager finale already.

Don't mind me, I'll just be over here crying for the next hour and a half.

So. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before how Mark Sheppard is apparently in ALL THE SHOWS, yes? But I tend to associate this, in my head, with current shows/things I discovered as an adult.

So imagine my surprise when he shows up in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. Which is one of my childhood shows.

I seriously had to pause the episode and go "THAT IS MARK SHEPPARD. IN MY STAR TREK." for like 5 minutes.

I'm excited, but also experiencing a weird mental disconnect about it.

Watching the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Living Witness," where some culture has this incredibly skewed view of the history of Voyager.

And I love that the way they visually cue that this is eeeeeeeeeevil!Voyager is that everyone is wearing black leather gloves.

(Oh, and evil!Janeway's hair is this terrifying proto-mullet thing. Her hair is bad this season anyway, but this episode it's particularly awful.)

CREEPY-ASS MICHAEL MCKEAN CLOWN. Also, CARNIVAL FROM HELL. It's like they're trapped in Cirque de Soleil or something. At least the episode started with Harry playing his clarinet for Tom.

(Yes, I am desperately trying to focus on this and NOT click on [livejournal.com profile] roachstar's spoiler post for tonight's Castle, which I've heard is deliciously full of Ryan-and-Esposito goodness. I don't get to watch until tomorrow when it's up on the website.)

Episodes of Voyager watched today: 10 and counting. Probably fit in another 1 or 2 before bed tonight. (Because I'd rewatched season 1 a short while ago, this means I'm currently on episode 2x19, having just started the season 2 rewatch last night) I'd forgotten how much I love this show. And how much I really like the Doctor. And how much I just want to slap Neelix sometimes (jealousy is so unbecoming, and I find it terribly irritating). One beef with it, though: SPACE HAS THREE DIMENSIONS. COUNT THEM: THREE. So if you're, for example, surrounded by a "ring" of some sort of anomaly, GO UP. GO DOWN. YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUST BARREL STRAIGHT THROUGH THE DAMNED THING. *facepalm*

Also, I would like more Tom-and-Harry scenes (because GODDAMMIT I SLASH THEM, GIVE ME SOMETHING TO WORK WITH).

Also managed to get the recycling taken out, dishes done, laundry done, and got my lab notebook all caught up (I was like...3 days behind?)

On top of that, I've written another 350 or so words today on the WH13/Eureka fic that's been sitting on my desktop staring at me for ages. The idea for it is eating my brain, but I have a lot of trouble actually getting words out. This fic promises to be potentially VERY LONG, and full of tension and emotion and angst...and none of those things are things I'm good at writing! Fic currently stands at almost 600 words, and I'm not even to the end of what's probably going to be the first chapter. This fic threw itself at me shortly after I'd finished watching Eureka S4, and it's going to be all twisty and tension-y and I just want to TALK ABOUT IT FOREVER but that won't get it written (though it might help inspire me as to where it needs to go?). It's an idea I'm very excited about, but I know already that the actual writing of it is going to give me trouble. At least I have a general idea of some of the scenes that need writing, it'll just be an issue of getting the words pounded out.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever be able to write that Ryan/Esposito fic idea that came to me the other night. I posted it as a prompt at the ficondemand comm over at Dreamwidth, in the hopes that maybe somebody over there would be able to write it.

Guh. I'm rambling. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that it's very quiet over here and I kind of just want to talk to people. THIS IS A CRY FOR ATTENTION. XD

To conclude, have a picture of my cat:

Morning: Watched Chicago River get dyed green. Wandered around for a while, watched part of the parade but couldn't see much and it was hot, so we got ice cream instead. Did not encounter a single green beer along the way, for which I am deeply thankful. (Actually didn't see a whole lot of beery people, period, which surprised me a little. I mean. This is Chicago on St Patrick's Day, after all.)

Afternoon: Star Trek: Voyager. All afternoon. And yes, I'm shipping Tom/Harry even more than I did before. Been a long time since I rewatched this show.

Netflix free trial ♥

Star Trek: Voyager rewatch is a go. Man, I forgot how much I liked this show.

HOLY SHIT

So. Bry and I are watching Dexter Season 2. And they brought in a profiler. Named Frank. Who just happens to be played by the dude who played the serial killer Frank in Criminal Minds. Funny how Frank in CM chopped up his victims, kinda like Dexter does.

Freaking weird.

And it's weird that he's a profiler. Like, really weird. o.O He was more believable as the jerkface FBI boss in Numb3rs than as a profiler in this. I dunno, it's just really strange to me that he's a profiler.

ETA: Holy Shit. Seska from Star Trek: Voyager. Is some random widow person on Dexter. What. The. Hell?

rawrgh.

The last thing I need right now is yet ANOTHER fandom to get interested in. I mean, I've been watching Voyager for years, but...how the HELL did I miss the Harry/Tom, um...tension? Seriously. I really don't need to have yet another fandom to try to find all the good fic from.

*mumble grumble*

This episode, though. So much slashy tension goodness in one place. (Aw, they're holding hands. And practically cuddling. Never mind they're both injured and in prison, and Tom's all psycho.)

*spazzes*

Woo.

Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard as Dixon Hill. WIN.

Seriously. Star Trek in a 1940s detective holodeck program. LIKE.

Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner in fedoras...very interesting. Fedoras are awesome.

Oh Star Trek, how I love you so.

And I quote:

"It feels like we're being pecked to death by ducks."

Oh wow. This is very weird.

I'm watching Star Trek:TNG. Like...the pilot. And tiny Wesley Crusher is tiny.

Very tiny Wil Wheaton is very strange to watch now. Because now that I've seen that CM ep, "Paradise"...it's hard to not see the serial killer when I look at the little kid.

It's just odd. I'm doing strange head-tilty things and staring at him.

Also. GIANT SPACE JELLYFISH.
